Screen South Day at the Cannes Film Festival 2012



North Sea Screen Partners member Screen South launched their new programme of work at the Cannes Festival on Wednesday 23rd May. Screen South, a partner in this year's UK Film Centre in Cannes, chaired the session - "Film and Young People" - with managing director, Jo Nolan, coordinating a lively discussion on and highlighting their work on uScreen, as the sun finally shone on the Croisette. In the afternoon Chairman Graham Benson led the pitching session, in association with key Screen South international partner NSSP. They formally launched their new North Sea Regions Co-Production brochure and the innovative partnership with Maidstone Studios and the Peter Jones Academy – The Creative Business Base.

Screen South continues to deliver a vibrant creative service. After 11 years they have unique experience and expertise in Production and Development and complementing and partnering with other organisations, ensuring a plurality of open doors by delivering training courses, facilitating production, mentoring film-makers & acting as international, national and regional brokers for screen media and the wider creative industries. Chairman, Graham Benson, speaking at the Screen South Cannes reception following the packed pitching programme said:

"We are a leaner, fitter but highly skilled operation keen to play our part in continuing to grow the creative economy - we are very much open for business".
