From Novel to Script to Screenplay

North Sea Screen Partners members FilmFyn and nordmedia recently hosted an international residential screenwriting workshop for writers and producers in Bremen, Germany.

The Hanseatic city of Bremen presented itself in the best light with sunny, warm weather: 30 script witers and producers from the North Sea region spent two intensive days with experienced award-winning speakers. Author, screenwriter and director Brendan Foley gave an insight to the script writing process and interaction with producers. Ned Dowd, a Hollywood production heavy weight ("Last of the Mohicans", "Apocalypto") reported on how scripts ought to be transferred to the scenes, and producer Lars Hermann taught that both sides, producers and script writers, should always have an eye on the budget.

Throughout the network nordmedia and FilmFyn work with like partners across the North Sea region to support business development and create new collaboration in the film industry.
