Deutscher Filmpreis 2010: three nominations for nordmedia sponsored productions

On 19th March the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, Minister of State Bernd Neumann, announced together with the Presidents of the German Film Academy, Iris Berben and Bruno Ganz and the board chairman, Thomas Kufus, the nominations for the Deutscher Filmpreis (Lola award) 2010. There are sixteen categories in total, including the new category Best Make-up Artist.

Two nordmedia sponsored productions can be proud of being nominated for three Lola- awards.

Fatih Akin´s award-winning film Soul Kitchen (above) is nominated in the categories Best Feature Film and Best Cut. Soul Kitchen is an innovative sentimental film in a regional setting. The world is not perfect and world is a restaurant; it´s about family and friends, love, confidence and loyalty.

The debut feature film Salami Aleikum, a multicultural comedy by the German-Iranian director Ali Samadi Ahadi, is nominated in the category Best Film Music. The director succeeded in creating an original mix of culture clash tale, romantic comedy and political satire following animated films and Bollywood musicals.

As a special highlight of the Deutscher Filmpreis 2010 The Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, Minister of State Bernd Neumann, announced that the chancellor Angela Merkel will open the ceremony and give the German Film Award 2010 in Gold due to the 60th Anniversary of the Deutscher Filmpreis.

The Deutscher Filmpreis (Lola) is the most prestigious and most salaried award for the German film and will be awarded on 23rd April in Berlin´s Friedrichstadtpalast. The ARD will broadcast the ceremony the same evening.
